80's night!

When my friends and I get together, we like to have fun! Last year for my friend Erica's birthday, we all dressed up in 80's clothes, then went to dinner and bowling! We laughed, danced and had the best time!
I wanted to share with you a layout from that night using the Chalk Art stack from DCWV. It has some very "rad" chalk prints that I am sure you will love! My favorites are the brightly colored sheets! Just look at those polka dots and stripes!
Yes, that is me in the zebra striped pants! LOL The colors in this stack went great with these photos! I like that you can play them up with the brighter colors and this stack also looks great with more subtle colors. Check it out at your local JoAnn stores!

I made this card using the Twinkle Glints stack by DCWV. The shiny stars and black pearls are also DCWV. Loving all the sparkle!

My Winter Snowman

One of the things I look forward to when winter comes, is seeing all the snowmen! I think they are so cute! I decided to make one using the new Christmas & Winter stack from DCWV.
This was a bare wooden snowman that I bought at Michaels. I painted it white first, then added the paper from the Christmas & Winter stack to the bottom half of the snowman. The hat section is also covered in paper from the Glitzy Glitter stack. I dressed the snowman up with brads, hole punches for the coal on the face, a button for the berries, and some hand cut carrots and leaves. I also found a cute scarf in the doll section at Michaels and it is the perfect accessory, don't you think? I hot glued it down so it would stay in place. For the finishing touches, I added white chalk ink to the hat, inked the edges of the body, and sprayed Shimmer mist over it all for a little sparkle. :)
Thanks for checking out my snowman today! Enjoy your winter!

Be Merry!

I really wanted to play with some sparkly glitter paper today, and what better stack to use than the Holiday Glitzy Glitter Stack from DCWV??? It is so pretty! The glitter doesn't rub off and cuts  smooth in your electronic cutter! Love it!
And here is the card I made!
I hope you can see just how sparkly this paper is! I used a cut file from Chic Tags to create my border, then added the "Be Merry" title. For a little extra visual fun, I added some teeny stars too!

One more closer look at the sparkle!
Thanks for checking out my blog today! Hope this inspired you to make some of your own holiday cards! 26 more days until Christmas!

Peace on Earth... and a winner!

Have you seen the new DCWV Winter Basics stack out at JoAnn's stores? Blue is my favorite color and this stack is just beautiful! It makes me think of snow falling and those peaceful, cold winter nights.
I wanted to share with you this wooden Peace sign that I covered using this stack. It is a 6x6 stack, so the little designs work perfectly!
I covered each letter in a different pattern, added some faux stitching to some edges and glitter to others. The winter stickers are also DCWV and brand new for the holidays! The snowflakes I created using some DCWV pearl gems. This was an easy project to do and makes a great statement to decorate your home for the holiday season! Here is a little closer look:

Also, the winner of the two 6x6 DCWV pads from the blog hop this past weekend is... Ange!

I was given the Clear Scraps acrylic album in the shape of a banner. I immediately knew that I wanted to make a winter banner for my craft area! Using the Jolly Whimsy stack made it even easier since the colors coordinate perfectly! They are not the typical reds and greens you see, but more pinks and lighter greens. Love it!

My banner was fairly simple to make and so I thought I would offer you some easy steps to make one of your own.

1. Cut down some patterned paper banner pieces slightly smaller than the acrylic album pieces.
2. Ink the edges of those pieces if you desire.
3. Adhere the paper to the acrylic banner. (I used a strong double sided tape.)
4. Place 1 doily in the center of each banner.
5. Place snowflake in the middle of each doily. (I cut these out with my Silhouette using the DCWV Glitzy Glitter stack.)
6. Fussy cut out the letters or embellishments you would like to use and place those in the center of the snowflakes. (I stuck these down with some foam tape to give it some dimension.)
7. Rough up the edges of the acrylic banner pieces with some sandpaper, then put glue around the edges and add a little glitter for that extra sparkle!
8. Run some pretty ribbon through the premade holes in the album, leaving enough on each end to use to hang it up.
9. I added some jingle bells to jazz it up a little bit by stringing them through some floss and then tying them between each banner piece.

A closer look at the details:
Isn't the stitching around the letters super cute?

I also tried hanging it up right inside my door on my bench... Loving it here too!

Remember to comment by Sunday, November 24th on each blog during the blog hop for a chance to win a goodie box from DCWV

Family Portrait

Today I wanted to share a page I made using the Modern Meadow stack from DCWV. This is a beautiful stack with lots of blues, oranges, and yellows to choose from.
A took a few different sheets from this stack and created my own background for this page:
On top of the main middle yellow section, I added a strip from another sheet that had my title on it. I traced over the letters to make it stand out a little bit more. I added a strip of the rust colored paper along the bottom for a pop of color. I added a few other embellishments to top it off. Love how this page turned out and it came together fairly quickly too!
